R & D TAX
The Research and Development (R&D) program is a federal tax incentive program designed to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct R&D in Canada that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes.
Generally, a private corporation can earn an investment tax credit of 35% of expenditures for R&D carried out in Canada – that’s money back in your pocket for R&D work that you may already be doing. You don’t have to be working on the next greatest invention to qualify for the R&D program. Many technology based companies and manufacturers can qualify for R&D credits based on the work that they’re already doing.
